The International Masters Program (Master of Science, M.Sc.) in Geospatial Technologies is a cooperation of:
- Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster (WWU), Institute for Geoinformatics (ifgi), Münster, Germany.
- Universitat Jaume I (UJI), Castellón, Dept. Lenguajes y Sistemas Informaticos (LSI), Castellón, Spain.
- Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL), Instituto Superior de Estatística e Gestão de Informação (ISEGI), Lisboa, Portugal,
- selected within the Erasmus Mundus Programme, project reference: 2007-0064/001 FRAME MUNB123.
The three-semester Masters program targets holders of Bachelor degrees in application areas of Geographic Information (GI), e.g., environmental planning, regional planning, logistics/traffic, marketing, energy provision, etc.. GI is a rapidly growing market, lacking qualified GI personnel and offering excellent career chances. Therefore, the Masters Program targets life-long learning for graduates and professionals in the fields of geography, surveying, planning, local adminstration, etc., who are willing to acquire additional GI skills for applying them in their respective GI application area.
The European Commission provides:
- 8 financial contributions to EU students (in this context nationals from EU Member States, EEA-EFTA countries and Switzerland). The financial contribution includes a support to living costs of 500 € per month (9.000 € in total), coverage of tuition fees of 1.500 € per semester (4.500 € in total), and an insurance package.
- 2 full scholarships to students from the Western Balkans and Turkey Window. Full scholarships include a contribution to travel, installation and all other types of costs (8.000 € in total), monthly allowances of 1.000 € per month (18.000 € in total), coverage of tution fees of 3.500 € per semester (10.500 € in total), and an insurance package.
- 10 full scholarships to third country students (other nationals than EU and Window students above). Full scholarships include a contribution to travel, installation and all other types of costs (8.000 € in total), monthly allowances of 1.000 € per month (18.000 € in total), coverage of tution fees of 3.500 € per semester (10.500 € in total), and an insurance package.
- 4 scholarships for third country scholars (visiting researchers). Scholarships include a lump sum of 14.800 € for supporting all types of costs.
